Singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland, no based in Melbourne, Australia.

First and foremost I am a songwriter and composer...I play a little guitar, a little Bass, a little less keyboards and stretch the vocal chords to meet in the middle... a Jack of all trades master of none. Structurally the material meets the crossroads of many genres with plenty of hooks and melodies for the listener. some production and instrumentation is dated... but with the right producer/arranger and some fresh talent much of the work can be transformed. I am also into collaboration.

Although I chose to get married , have a normal job and children  I have been writing on and off since the mid sixties. I am now retied and find myself going through and recording demos of original work that was started in the relative decades (I count 5). As I go through the material it is interesting to note the influences of the times. And it is for that reason that I will continue to record the demos... Particulaly the sixties stuff... Every generation since the "Baby Boomers"  seems to references the music from the sixties.

I am a past president and life member of the AUSTRALIAN SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION, and hold a diploma in Music - tution.  Have a small home recording set up with a DAW and lots of toys to keep me amused.

I hope to write my first book this year.

Ed Layne is currently a solo artist working from his studio in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California. Elijah David Monroe(singer/songwriter/guitarist/harmonica) Nov. 22, 1976-me I began my self-tought journey in music when my mom gave me her fender acoustic 6-string in 1986. It came with two books of sheet music, The Beatles and moms all time favorite artist Neil Young. The journey continued until early 90's when my vocal music teacher(Sandy McDonald) referred me to Bob Dunn(University of Northern Iowa music professer) for 1 guitar lesson in pentatonic scale and relative theory. From that point forward(20 yrs ago) ive been using my musical passion to write and perform songs, mostly as an understanding humanitarian w/ a popular polital agenda.
