Steve Mornini has written and recorded songs for 40 years, he is originally from the north suburbs of Chicago. He now lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Most of his songs were done as demo's for other artists to sing. Then he went through a midi studio stage and did nothing but instrumentals for many years. All this while raising a family and working fulltime for Fedex as a courier. Creating Music had to be a part-time job. He is now semi-retired, and has a bit more time for music.
Steve is mostly a melody man, and has been searching for great lyrics for collaboration songs in the pop-country-light rock, soft jazz market. In his early days, he was scheduled to play with Kenny Rankin at a Lake Geneva music festival, but the show got cancelled. His cassette recordings back in the 70's were featured on a sat morning radio show for 2 hours, in Desplaines, Il. His one and only CD,"I'll Come Back", was done in 1995, sold about 500 copies, and a song off the CD was played on a Humboldt, Ia radio station. His Father was an accordion player, and his band played Jazz Standards. His Mother was a singer, but not professionally. Steve's biggest influences in music are, The Beatles, James Taylor, Genesis, Carole King, Carly Simon, Diana Krall, Michael Franks, and so many others.
